What do New Year's Resolutions look like in 2021?

Can you believe we made it to 2021? It feels like 2020 lasted forever, but also went by so fast.

It was quite the year. It challenged us all physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and even financially. Because of the year we had, heading into the new year can mean a lot of things for different people.

I've seen some differing views all over the place about this so I wanted to ask the question:

Seriously, though?

Many people say they aren't doing the usual resolutions because they don't want to jinx 2021, they don't want to set high expectations, they're too burnt out from the trials and tribulations of 2020 that they don't have the energy to make them or stick to them.

On the other side of it, there's many people who feel the complete opposite. They felt because of the pandemic that 2020 was such a stagnant year and they didn't get to accomplish what they wanted. They had a perspective change while in quarantine and are ready to switch up their life and this time gave them that push.

Or maybe you're somwhere in the middle?

Personally, I'm on the 'make these goals and make this YOUR year' side.

2020 did not go the way I planned at all, and a lot of that was for good reason. Despite the craziness of the coronavirus, I had an amazing year. I started a new relationship that flipped my life around in the best way. I spent more time outside and gained a work-life balance, which meant I had more time for fun and things I enjoy outside of work. I've gotten a rejuvinated value in my friends, family, and the people closest to me.

But of course, it was also draining, eye-opening, and tough in more ways than one.

So I've made my resolutions based on that. Many, ironically, are very similar to my ones in 2020, but with new twists.

My resolutions involve big changes to all aspects to my life: career, money, lifestyle, health, travel.

Lots of the usual stuff, like losing weight, moving up in jobs and money, traveling more, saving money, etc. I won't delve fully into mine because I feel the specifics can be private and you should work towards them on your own.

But to stay motivated and accountable, I do think journaling and having a planner make things easier. I have my usual planner and a focus planner, which is a concentrated habit and achievement tool which is used for 3 months since that is the time it usually takes to make a lifestyle change. (Ever heard of the 21 90 rule? Check it out!)

Here are links to the monthly planner and the focus planner I have. I got the monthly one from Hobby Lobby and the focus one, my boyfriend got from work and decided he didn't want to use it. HAHA!

Monthly I don't have this exact one, because I have the 18 month one but very similiar layout and same brand :)

Focus This one is also on sale right now!

Linking one more that I have thought about getting but never pulled the trigger on because I like to see them in person. One day I'll do it because some of these are fully customizable.

Regardless of your resolutions, here's to a healthy and happy new year!
